The Equality Act 2010 makes it unlawful to discriminate against or treat someone unfairly because they are married or in a civil partnership. Marriage and Civil Partnership have been defined below:
- Marriage can either be between a man and a woman, or between partners of the same sex.
- Civil partnership is between partners of the same sex.
All staff and members of our communities are treated equally regardless of their marital status.
