Applications are now being invited for The Prince’s Trust Team programme being delivered by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in the Bournemouth and Poole area from September.
The Service is looking for unemployed young people to take part in an exciting 12 week course to learn new skills and improve their confidence and motivation. The upcoming Team programme will be based at Kinson Community Centre and will run from Monday 25 September until Friday 15 December.
Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. The course will give unemployed young people aged between 16 and 25 the skills and confidence to find a job.
Participants will get involved in team building activities and a four-day residential trip in Dartmoor, complete a community project, and take part in two weeks of work experience during the programme.
They will also get advice on how to write CVs, practice interview skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications.
Rob Guy, Youth Intervention Manager, said: “The 12 week programme is all about helping young people to learn new skills and achieve their potential. It really is an exciting opportunity and we are asking anyone who is currently unemployed and between the ages of 16 and 25, who would like to gain qualifications and improve their motivation and confidence, to get in touch.”
