Description: We were called to the waste transfer site at Compton Bassett for approx. 40 tonnes of partially processed domestic and commercial waste on fire. Crews from Calne, Devizes (x2) and Chippenham extinguished the fire, with support the Royal Wootton Bassett water carrier and a support unit from Swindon. Approx 60 tonnes of waste was moved away from the fire by on-site staff and machinery. The stop was at 1.11am.
