Day duty shift patterns – further information
The day duty system being trialled for Chippenham and Trowbridge will be the three days on, three days off pattern currently worked by these stations.
Due to the complexities of transitioning Chippenham and Trowbridge from day crewing to day duty, the start date for the day duty system is expected to be between April and September 2025, although this may be subject to change.
The other day duty stations will start their trials in April 2025. It is expected that the trial period will end in April 2026, where a final decision on day duty patterns will be made following engagement and feedback from the affected stations. Any subsequent day duty pattern changes will take effect within the 2026 leave year.
Technical Rescue, Red Group – further information
From Autumn 2025, the Technical Rescue capability in Red Group will be situated at Westlea fire station.
