Car fire – M4

Date: 19th June, 2025

Time: 5.32pm

Description: We were called to the M4 westbound between J16 and J17 for a car well alight. The driver had pulled over when the fire started, and all occupants were safely out of the vehicle. One crew from Westlea attended and two breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets were used. The whole of the westbound carriageway was closed while the fire was extinguished; our stop was at 6.38pm, and the incident was left with National Highways, with two lanes reopened at that time.
