Open Day at Weymouth Fire Station

Date: 4th July, 2017

Weymouth fire station and SafeWise are hosting an open day on Sunday 9 July 2017 from 11am to 3pm.

During the day, visitors will be able to experience live fire drills and watch demonstrations from the emergency services, including the dramatic chip pan fire demonstrator, and the correct way to use a defibrillator.

Devon Fire and Rescue Service will be joining in on the day, bringing along their specialist Fire Dogs to demonstrate their unique role in fire safety.

It’s not all about fire safety as fun will be playing a big part in the day as well. There will be a fairground, a raffle, a bouncy castle and a display from the Amberlight Majorettes – and, if you bring along a teddy bear, on the day, your toy will be able to experience a once in a lifetime zip line ride down from the tower!

New for this year will be a Scoot-a-Run race. Children between the ages of four and 12 will be able to take part in a scooter race around RoadWise, followed by a fun run. You will need to register before 9 July at Weymouth Community Fire Station’s Reception, pay £2 and then bring your own scooter and helmet on the day. All children taking part will receive a medal!

There will also be a barbecue and refreshments available on the day.

All proceeds from the day will go to the Fire Fighters Charity and SafeWise.
