Macmillan coffee morning being held at Amesbury fire station

Date: 20th September, 2019

A coffee morning is being held at Amesbury fire station on Friday 27 September in support of Macmillan Cancer Care.

The doors will be open between 9am and 1pm for people to call in for a hot drink and some cake, with all donations benefiting the charity.

Hosted by the Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team and Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service On-Call Support Officers, there will also be attendance from the Royal Military Police, with blue light vehicles on display.

Anyone wanting advice on how to be safer at home can chat with representatives from the Bobby Van and the DWFRS Safe & Well team.

Crew Manager Vicki Brewis, one of the event organisers, said: “We were approached by the local police to see whether we could join forces on an event, so whether people want to ask about being a firefighter, get home safety advice, or just pop in to take a look at the fire station and the emergency vehicles, this a great opportunity to enjoy a cuppa and some cake, and to support a very worthwhile cause. We look forward to seeing lots of visitors on the day!”

Amesbury fire station can be found on Salisbury Road and public car parks are close by. Please be careful when approaching the site in case of the fire engines being called away for an emergency.
