Electrical fire – Swindon
24th March, 2026 at 9.51am
We were called to New Bridge Square, Swindon after reports of smoke in TriCentre One. The site was evacuated and we initially had eight crews on scene, including from Faringdon and Abingdon (Oxfordshire FRS), supported by the aerial ladder platform from Swindon and a support unit from Pewsey. After full investigations, an electrical fire in the plant room was located. The stop was at 10.53am, when SSEN was on site to make everything safe. No injuries were reported.

Heater fire – Weymouth
23rd March, 2026 at 12.49am
We were called to The Esplanade, Weymouth at 12.49am this morning (23 March) after light smoke was located within a commercial premises. Crews attended from Weymouth (x2), Portland, Dorchester, Bere Regis and Maiden Newton, and firefighters carried out a full investigation to trace the issue to a convector heater above the front door. This was removed and our stop was at 1.22am.

Tumble dryer fire – Weymouth
22nd March, 2026 at 5.36pm
We were called for a fire involving a tumble dryer. Crews attended from Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland, and six breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets were used. The occupants of the house were out safely when we arrived. Our stop was at 7.08pm.

We were called to Kingston Lacy House for a small fire in the store room of the stable block restaurant. Three crews attended, from Wimborne, Poole and Redhill Park, and four breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets were used. The stop was at 1.17pm, and an investigation confirmed that the fire started accidentally due to a lithium ion battery.
