Description: 23 March - The cause of the fire was believed to be from a mirror in a windowsill which had reflected the sunlight onto an object in the room.
1:30pm (20.3.26) - All firefighting action has now ceased and the stop came in at 10:41am. Aa investigation is now underway to establish the cause of the fire.
6am (20.3.26) - Three crews remained on scene overnight to maintain a watching brief using thermal imaging cameras and gas monitoring equipment to check for hotspots.
8pm (19.3.26) - At the height of the incident there were 19 appliances (approximately 60 firefighters)in attendance (15 fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, a water carrier and two support units). The incident is now being scaled back to 8 crews. Firefighters are still working to put out the fire and salvage belongings.
3.45pm (19.3.26) - We received a call at 2.41pm this afternoon about a thatch fire on Chedington Lane, Mosterton. Ten crews are currently in attendance from Yeovil (D&SFRS), Bridport (x2), Chard (D&SFRS), Ilminster(D&SFRS), Sherborne, Charmouth, Dorchester (x2), Lyme Regis and Beaminster, along with an aerial ladder platform and water carrier also from Yeovil.
Firefighters are currently creating a fire break and carrying out salvage activities; breathing apparatus wearers are using hose reel jets and compressed air foam systems to tackle the fire.
