Description: Approx. 40 firefighters dealt with a fire in a takeaway restaurant on the ground floor of a three storey building, which spread up to the roof via the extraction system. A total of 20 breathing apparatus wearers used three hose reel jets and a main jet to tackle the fire, and the ALP from Yeovil was used to access the roof. Three people from the building were moved to a place of safety, with no injuries reported. East Street was closed for some time while we dealt with this incident. The stop was at 8.19pm and we had left the scene by approx. 11pm. The fire started accidentally in the takeaway kitchen.
