At 7.33am on 21st December, firefighters from Christchurch (x2), Redhill Park, Springbourne and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Westbourne, were called to Knowles Close, Christchurch following reports of a property fire. When they arrived, firefighters found a significant fire in a first floor flat. Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reels and one main line to bring the fire under control. Although everyone had evacuated the property when firefighters arrived, three people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by colleagues from South West Ambulance Service. Dorset Police also attended and a joint investigation into the cause of the fire will begin as soon as it is safe to do so.
