Heath Fire

Description: 18:47 this evening the first call was received from a passing motorist on the Dorset Way to a fire on Canford Heath. Over the next half hour a total of 78 emergency calls were received to this fire. 2 fire engines, a 4x4 off road car and a water carrier from Poole Fire Station attended, with both wholetime and oncall firefighters, along with our specialist Unimog vehicle from Wareham Fire Station. Our firefighters found an area of heath well alight when they arrived. The fire was approximately 20m x 10m and was extinguished using 2 hose reels.
