Description: At 4.15pm this afternoon (07/06/2023) firefighters from Ferndown and Verwood were called to reports of a forest fire at Parley Common. On arrival they requested further support and at the height of this incident there were approx 30 firefighters on scene. Crews extinguished the fire using beaters and hose reels. 7pm - crews will remain on scene for some time dampening down hot spots. 08/06/23 7am - Firefighters have remained in attendance at this incident overnight. They are currently dealing with multiple hotspots across the fire ground using hose reels. Further resources have been requested this morning to support this. We remind residents to avoid the area. 9.45am - three fire engines, four small 4x4 pumping appliances, the Unimog and high volume pump are currently in attendance and firefighters are continuing to dampen down multiple hotspots.
