Description: Fire fighters from Weymouth and Dorchester were called to a domestic fire in a thatched property. The fire had started in a tumble drier and was out on arrival. The property had filled with smoke and the smoke alarm actuated. Fortunately in this case it was a happy ending but it is worth being aware to never leave a tumble drier running when out of the property or in bed, to clean lint from the filter regularly and to test smoke alarms weekly.
