Are you a proven project manager who likes to build strong delivery teams, motivate and supervise project team members and suppliers?

Do you have the ability to encourage others to take positive measures, be accountable for the work assigned to them, to do research and to develop practical solutions to meet the technical process and resource requirements of ISO 17020? If yes, we would be keen to hear from you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to build the business case to deliver a sustainable and cost-effective approach to FRS fire investigation, which enables accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 to be achieved and maintained.

The Forensic Science Regulator has determined that all fire scene investigations that may enter the criminal justice system must, by 1 Oct 2023, be undertaken by organisations that are accredited to ISO/IEC 17020:2012. As the project manager, you will engage with each stakeholder service and research potential routes for gaining accreditation to ISO 17020 for forensic FI services through collaboration. You will build a business case of fully cost-benefit assessed options to present to the FRS.

You will be required to lead, manage and coordinate work with relevant members of the fire investigation teams in stakeholder FRS and Police to deliver a sustainable and cost-effective approach to fire investigation conducted by FRS, which enables accreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 be achieved and maintained.

Your in-depth project management experience will allow you to manage complex projects.

You will have experience of leading on Tier 2 complex investigations and will hold a Level 5 Certificate in Fire Investigation or equivalent. Your excellent expertise in stakeholder management skills will include a strong ability to influence and negotiate.

You will also have excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively, managing shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
