Wareham Firefighter takes on 24-hour challenge in aid of Fire Fighters Charity

Date: 7th April, 2025

Wareham Firefighter, Brandon Fox will be taking on a 24-hour challenge in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.

The unique challenge, which is being held on 12 April starting at 6am, will see him run a 5km loop in full PPE from Wareham Fire Station, every hour for 24 hours.
In total, he is expected to run 120km (74.5 miles).

As a full-time self-employed Bricklayer, 25-year-old Brandon first joined Wareham Fire Station to help assist the local community. He’s decided to accept this challenge due to the incredible work undertaken by this charity. To help prepare for the challenge, he has completed training runs in his local area and full fire kit runs on the treadmill at the station.

Brandon said: “I have chosen to take on this challenge to support the Fire Fighters Charity because I believe this has never been achieved before. Hearing about other firefighter’s stories when receiving support from this charity gave me the inspiration to help. The charity relies heavily on donations from fundraisers, and I want to make sure their amazing work can continue long into the future.”

He added: “I would love for this to be a community effort – I really appreciate any donations towards my fundraiser but, if you’re unable to donate, please help out in other ways, by sharing my page, telling family and friends, or even coming along!”

To help this great cause, colleagues at Wareham Fire Station will be hosting a bake sale and raffle on the day between the hours of 11am and 3pm, in an effort to raise additional funds.

Wareham Fire Station can be found on Worgret Road, Wareham. To find out more about the Fire Fighters Charity, please see their website:
