Wareham fire station to hold open day

Date: 19th July, 2022

Firefighters from Wareham fire station are holding their first station open day for over 3 years.  The event will take place this Saturday 23 July from 10am – 4pm providing fun and entertainment for all ages!

We are delighted to be able to welcome our community back onto the fire station and would like to invite everyone to come along and spend some time to meet our firefighters, have a look around the Station, fire appliances and give us the opportunity to offer you some home, fire and road safety advice.

There will be live demonstrations by firefighters including one using our Aerial Ladder Platform and visitors will also be able to see a selection of vintage vehicles.  There will also be able to meet our colleagues from HM Coastguard, Police and Ambulance who are supporting our event.

A wide range of activities have been planned to suit the whole family, including BBQ, refreshments, a raffle, gift, tombola and other charity stalls along with the chance for children to squirt some water with our target game!

Watch Manager Steve Nicol said “This is a great way for our local community to find out more about its local fire station. We are delighted to be able to hold our station open day and we welcome everyone to come along to enjoy all the fun activities and demonstrations we have planned throughout the day. All proceeds raised will be donated to The Firefighters Charity so you will be supporting a very worthy cause.”
