Open day at Stratton fire station

Date: 4th July, 2016

One of Swindon’s three fire stations is throwing open its doors to the public this Saturday (9 July), and there promises to be something for everyone.

The open day at Stratton fire station, on Highworth Road, will run from 12noon to 4pm, and there will be a range of activities to enjoy, as well as both modern and vintage fire engines on display.

Amongst the attractions will be:

Any proceeds from the day will be split between the Fire Fighters Charity and Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group.

Firefighter Joanne Evans, who has organised the event, said: “This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station and I’m sure that a lot of Swindon residents would love to come and have a look around. We would like as many people as possible to come along to our open day, have a great time and leave with some vital fire and road safety messages!”
