There will also be a range of demonstrations, including hot oil fires, using the aerial ladder platform and a road traffic collision. There will be the opportunity to have a look around the appliances, sign up for a free home safety check and find out what crews at the station get up to a daily basis.
Other activities will include tombola, Blaze bear, Firefighters Charity shop, Safe and Well stall and the British Red Cross will also have a stand.
Springbourne Station Manager Allan Frias-Robles said: “We’re hoping for a really good turnout this year as we have so much going on at the station – it will be a great opportunity for everyone.”
He added: “The open day is the perfect time for the public to come and meet their local fire crew, learn how to protect their homes from fire, and watch some live fire and rescue demonstrations”.
On top of all the excitement, there will be the opportunity to discuss fire safety and arrange home fire safety visits where necessary. Home safety visits provide advice about cooking and electrical safety, escape plans, and free smoke alarm checks.
