Fun for thrill seekers at Emergency Services Show

Date: 11th August, 2017

Thrill seekers will be spoilt for choice at this year’s Emergency Services Show.

Visitors to the event, at Cotswold Airport between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 3 September, will be able to take a ride in a fire engine, a police car, a sports car or even a helicopter!

An ever popular feature of the Show is the emergency vehicle rides, with both fire engines and police cars available for a blue light trip along the runway. Rides cost just £2.50 per person, and all of the proceeds go into the Show’s charity pot.

For a different driving experience, you can visit the Go Motorsport arena and take a passenger ride with an experienced amateur motorsport driver for a £2.50 charity donation.

Go Motorsport is a Motor Sports Association initiative, aimed at introducing people to the many ways of getting involved in the sport as a driver, navigator, organiser or volunteer. The AutoSolo at the Emergency Services Show is being run by members of Devizes & District Motor Club.

And Turwestern Helicopters will be on site throughout the day, offering a bird’s eye view of the Showground (weather permitting).

For just £45, visitors will be able to enjoy a six mile flight in a Bell 206 B3 Jetranger – you can book in advance via http://turwestonhelicopters.co.uk/book-a-flight.php or pay on the day with cash or card.

The Emergency Services Show is organised by a team of volunteers, mostly drawn from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police and South Western Ambulance Service. Since the first event in 2005, more than £150,000 has been donated to groups that support the work of the emergency services, and the Show committee is now a registered charity in its own right.

On-line advance ticket sales are now open at www.emergencyservicesshow.com, with admission priced at £6 for adults, £3 for under 16s and under threes free. Gate sales will be £6.50 and £3.50.

The website is still open for exhibitors and traders to book space at the Show – although commercial traders will be charged, charities and non-commercial exhibitors can attend for free. All exhibitors are asked to register in advance.

Amongst the other attractions planned for the day include police dog displays, cooker fire demonstrations, air ambulances, police horses, new and vintage emergency vehicles, a fun fair and much more!
