Date: 17th October, 2017
Warminster people will have the chance to look around their fire station and meet their local firefighters next week.
The open night – from 7pm on Monday 23 October – is a long-standing tradition as part of Carnival Week, and usually attracts in excess of 100 visitors.
Watch Manager Chris Trimby said: “We drill on a Monday night anyway, and we’ve thrown open the fire station doors for the start of Carnival for as long as I can remember. We will do a couple of demonstrations during the evening, and people can look round the appliances and find out more about what we do.”
One of Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Safe and Well Advisors will be on hand with a range of home fire safety advice, there will be a dramatic cooker fire demonstration, and a rural safety officer will be offering thatch fire safety advice – with a tiny thatched roof on a trailer!
