Date: 10th June, 2023
We received a call at 7.09pm yesterday evening (9 June) about a domestic property fire on Sandell Place, Amesbury. Crews from Amesbury, Salisbury, Warminster (x2), Tisbury and Mere along with neighbouring crews from Andover, Winchester, and aerial ladder platform from Basingstoke, attended the incident involving a three-storey building, which was well alight on arrival. 20 breathing apparatus wearers used the aerial ladder platform, hose reel jets and ladders to extinguish the fire.
Our stop came in at 1.56am and two crews remained on scene overnight to monitor for hotspots.
The building was evacuated, though no rescues were carried out. DWFRS are supporting Wiltshire Council with the residents of the property, and working with Wiltshire Police to determine the cause of the fire.
