Council tax precept agreed for 2026-27

Date: 10th February, 2026

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority is meeting this morning (10 February), and it has been agreed that Fire’s share of the council tax will be increased by £5 on average for 2026/27.

This means an annual fire precept for a typical Band D property of £96.95 for the Fire and Rescue Service for the financial year starting on 1 April 2026.

The Authority approved a budget of £79.503 million for 2026-27, with a requirement to find in-year savings totalling £1.206m to balance the budget.
