Christmas Trail promotes fire safety

Date: 15th December, 2020

Shops and businesses in several Wiltshire towns are supporting Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s first ever Christmas Trail.

The aim of the Christmas Trail is to get younger children out and about, in a Covid secure way, with their parents/carers to learn about fire safety.

Education Coordinator Yasmine Ellis said: “Thank you to the local businesses and organisations who have kindly agreed to support our Christmas Trail! In the areas where the Trail is running, shops and organisations are displaying Christmas posters with a safety message and hidden letter. Spotting the hidden letter, the children can then work out the answer to the secret safety message and then enter our prize draw to win a Playmobil fire vehicle.”

Look out for the posters in the following places: Aldbourne, Amesbury, Calne, Devizes, Melksham, Pewsey, Ramsbury, Royal Wootton Bassett, Tisbury and Trowbridge.

For an entry form and further information, please visit www.dwfire.org.uk/dwfrs-christmas-trail – you can either enter online or download the form and send in by email or post. The closing date for entries is Monday 4 January.

When you are doing the Christmas Trail, remember to be Covid-safe with Hands, Face, Space:

There are other fun Christmas activities for children on the DWFRS website, including a special Christmas safety story and a festive Glue & Make – just visit www.dwfire.org.uk/education/christmas-safety
