Charity car wash at Trowbridge fire station

Date: 29th April, 2019

A charity car wash is being held in Trowbridge this Saturday (4 May) in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.

The event is being organised at the town’s fire station in Hilperton Road between 10am and 2pm, and firefighters will be washing cars in return for donations.

At 12noon, firefighters will down sponges to join colleagues from across the country in a minute’s silence as part of the national Firefighters’ Memorial Day commemorations.

The Fire Fighters Charity provides help to serving and retired personnel, their widows/widowers and young dependants through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, as well as giving financial support to those who need it.

The charity works with some 11,000 beneficiaries every year at a cost of £9 million per annum, and these services are financed almost exclusively by fundraising.
