Description: At 23:15 we received a call from the occupant of a housein Morcombelake stating that smoke was issuing from around his fireplace after it had been put out. One fire engine from each of Charmouth and Bridport fire stations were mobilised to investigate. After thorough investigation, it was discovered that the log pile next to the fire had started to combust. The logs were removed from the property to extinguish the fire. Always be aware of radiated heat when having a fire and ensure that flammable items are kept at a safe distance.
