High rise fire – Bournemouth

Date: 16th January, 2024

Time: 08.55pm

Description: Just before 9pm, firefighters from Springbourne, Westbourne, Redhill Park, Christchurch and Poole were called to reports of a fire on the 6th floor of a high rise building in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. Seven fire engines (approx 35 firefighters) attended this incident due to its nature. Thankfully this was only a small fire which was caused by unattended cooking. Crews were able to deal with this quickly using 2 sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel. There were no injuries reported and no rescues required. Due to the water used on such a cold evening, firefighters requested colleagues from BCP Council attend to grit the roads. The stop message was received at 9.35pm.
