Description: We were called to the M4 westbound between J15 and J16 at 11.54am today (3 August) for a fire involving a lorry trailer laden with approx. 12 tonnes of hay. We initially had three crews in attendance, from Westlea, Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon, and this has been increased to include crews from Marlborough, Stratton, and Chippenham (x2) due to the challenging conditions, along with a water carrier from Royal Wootton Bassett. Breathing apparatus wearers and three hose reel jets are in use, and damping down continues. No injuries have been reported. The motorway has been closed westbound while firefighting continues, and there is severe congestion eastbound.
