Description: Firefighters from Dorchester, Bridport, Sturminster Newton, Weymouth and Beaminster along with land rovers from Maiden Newton and Bere Regis and a water carrier from Poole are attending three large fields on fire north of Dorchester on the C12 (Old Sherborne Road).
The public are asked to find an alternative route and avoid the area.
6.10pm update
Good progress is being made, although the fire is being fanned by strong winds. Multiple hose reels are being used to extinguish the fire which affects three fields.
7pm update
The stop message was received at 6.50pm. This incident will be scaled back shortly to continue dampening down.
