Description: At 9.05pm this evening, firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a derelict building in Bridge Street, Swindon. On their arrival, crews found a derelict building fully involved in fire. Update 10.30pm (12/03/23) - there are currently over 40 firefighters on scene dealing with this fire. Firefighters are using hose reels, jets, breathing apparatus and their aerial ladder platform to bring the fire under control. Update 2.40am (13/03/23) - firefighters continue to deal with this incident. Steady progress is being made and firefighters will remain at the scene through the night. Update 7.20am (13/03/23) - this incident will be scaling back to one fire engine and an aerial ladder platform shortly. The fire is now extinguished and the crew will be concentrating on hotspots. People are asked to avoid the area and residents are asked to keep all windows and doors closed.
