Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority (the Authority) acts as the overall governing body for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (the Service) and has 18 Members:

The proportion of Members is on the basis of the numbers of electors in each of the constituent areas.

Members’ Code of Conduct

The Localism Act 2011 places a statutory duty on relevant authorities to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by Members. The code of conduct adopted by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority is consistent with the following principles: selflessness; integrity; objectivity; accountability; openness; honesty; and leadership.

Should members of the public have any concerns about the conduct of any of the Authority’s Members, a formal independent complaints process is followed.

To make a complaint, please first register this through the Service’s internal complaints process. The Clerk of the Authority will acknowledge your complaint and pass the matter to the Monitoring Officer for an initial assessment. The Monitoring Officer will make contact with you within five working days of receiving the complaint.

If you wish to report any alleged misconduct anonymously, you can do this through our whistleblowing arrangements.
