Christmas

On the 1st day of Xmas my electrician completed the 5 yearly inspections on electrical installations.

On the 2nd day of Xmas I identified any employees/occupants especially at risk from fire.

On the 3rd day of Xmas I made sure that the escape routes were clear so people could get out safely.

On the 4th day of Xmas I looked for gaps in the walls and ceilings to stop smoke spreading.

On the 5th day of Xmas I checked I had enough emergency lighting for the safe use of escape routes.

On the 6th day of Xmas I checked all the fire safety signs on fire exits and fire doors.

On the 7th day of Xmas I checked the  fire alarms and call points were working.

On the 8th day of Xmas I checked I had enough suitable fire extinguishers.

On the 9th day of Xmas I prepared my emergency plan.

On the 10th day of Xmas I held fire training and drills for the staff and recorded it in the logbook.

On the 11th day of Xmas I made sure  all testing and maintenance for fire protection equipment  was up to date and recorded in my logbook.

On the 12th day of Xmas I had completed and recorded a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment.

Just a little warning note if you are going to have “ Twelve drummers drumming,  Eleven Pipers piping, Ten Lords a leaping, Nine Ladies dancing, Eight maids a milking, Seven swans a swimming, Six geese a laying, Five gold rings,  Four calling birds, Three French hens, Two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree”:

  1. Your fire risk assessment will probably need reviewing;
  2. You will need to check exits aren’t blocked;
  3. You will probably get a visit from RSPCA;
  4. It will get very messy.

Merry Christmas from all at DWFRS.
