Chief Fire Officer Ben Ansell is presenting a number of Commendations this year and further presentations will be held in the coming months for those people unable to attend the ceremony. Recipients are as follows:
- Mandy Blackford and Liz Watts (Swindon Homeline) – for their swift and courageous actions in rescuing an elderly lady from a fire at her property in Swindon on 6 November 2023.
- FF Scott Blandford – for his outstanding commitment, professionalism and dedication to ensuring positive working relations between Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Fire Brigades Union.
- Edward Bryant – for his swift and courageous actions at the scene of a water rescue incident in Wimborne on 20 June 2023.
- Jerry Welch, Christopher Charlton and Simon Callan – for their outstanding commitment, professionalism and dedication to the Training Centre Project.
- WM Rob Tompkins, CM Matthew Fry, CM Michelle Rodway, FF Chris Jenkins, FF Simon Spicer, FF Thomas Szuscik, FF Justin Hoffman, FF Ashley Warr and CM (Control) Hayley Thorne – for their brave and courageous actions during a road traffic collision on 6 April 2023.
- GM Graham Kewley – for his outstanding commitment, professionalism and dedication to the fire safety of our built environment and the safety of our diverse communities.
- Joy Phipps – for her outstanding commitment, professionalism and dedication to the ICT provision throughout our Service
- Linda Purr – for her swift action and determination in preventing an elderly lady from becoming a victim of fraud.
- WM Leah Smith – for her outstanding commitment, professionalism and dedication to driving organisational change and improvement in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
