Property Fire – Melksham

Description: We were called at 7:58pm yesterday, 18 April, with reports of a property fire on Milton Avenue, Melksham.  A total of four pumping appliances attended  (Trowbridge, Devizes, Bradford on Avon and Chippenham) along with the aerial ladder and a pumping appliance from Bath (Avon FRS). On arrival crews found a well-developed fire on the first floor and roof space of the residential building consisting of two flats and used main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.  One person was given casualty care at the scene by firefighters before being left in the care of the ambulance service.

The incident was scaled back to three pumping appliances overnight to continue damping down and our stop was in at 6:27am today.  The last crew left the scene just before 8am today. The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental.
