Mere, Tisbury and Gillingham Fire Stations are looking for new on-call firefighters and holding a Have a go event at Mere Fire Station on Saturday 7th March between 11am and 2pm. Come along and see what it takes to serve YOUR community and become an On-call Firefighter. The role of a firefighter is a career for anyone, the only restriction is age. You must be at least 17 1/2 to apply. You will have an opportunity to meet the team and try your hand at a number of activities, which include: The Equipment Carry Breathing Apparatus Experience Ladder Climb RTC Experience Equipment Assembly Don't be the bystander, be the one who can make a difference. No need to book, just turn up ~ however indicating on the Facebook event is always helpful with planning. Make sure you wear loose comfortable sports clothing with ankle socks - not trainer socks.
