Three south Dorset fire stations are holding on-call firefighter recruitment sessions in the first week of September.
Did you know? Some 60% of firefighters in Dorset and Wiltshire work on an on-call basis, making them hugely important to both the Service and the communities that they serve.
Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland fire stations are all on the search for the next generation of eager firefighters able to respond at a moment’s notice in case of an emergency.
Prospective applicants will have the opportunity to try some of the equipment and to go through a mock recruitment test to see if they are capable of becoming an on-call firefighter with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS).
Starting on 4 September at Weymouth Community fire station on Radipole Lane, the recruitment evenings will also be held at Dorchester fire station on Peverell Avenue West, on 5 September and at Portland fire station on Grove Road, on 6 September between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
