Final Countdown to the Emergency Services Family Fun Day

Date: 18th July, 2017

The Emergency Services Family Fun Day comes to Kings Park, Bournemouth this Saturday (22 July) from 11am to 4pm.

All the fun will start when the Chairman of the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority, Cllr Spencer Flower, and Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner, Martyn Underhill, are raised up high by the aerial ladder platform to officially start the proceedings.

The Emergency Services Family Fun Day provides a platform for all of the ‘blue light’ services to demonstrate their appliances, equipment and skills in a safe and controlled environment.

Refreshments will be on sale, and visitors will be able to meet some of the great people who help to keep the local community safe.

See how Dorset Police use their highly trained police dogs, their specialist Marine Unit and their new drone fleet to tackle crime across Dorset. Meet paramedics and find out more about the local Air Ambulance. Learn how the Fire and Rescue Service rescues animals large and small. Experience how dangerous putting water onto a chip pan can be and see why installing sprinklers is the best way to stop a house fire in its tracks and so much more.

If driving to the venue, the road past the Kings Park Café from Ashley Road will be closed from 7:30am with a signed diversion in place.

Drivers are advised to park in Kings Park car park next to AFC Bournemouth, which is only a short walk from the event and accessible via Holdenhurst Road and Kings Park Drive. You can pay for parking with cash or card.
