Property Fire – Bournemouth

Date: 16th October, 2020

Time: 2.53pm

Description: At 14:53 hours DWFRS were called to attend a report of a property fire in Parker Road, Bournemouth.  Redhill and Westbourne were mobilised but further calls received reported persons still inside the property so a further pump from Christchurch was mobilised. The Control Room also sent the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne as further calls indicated the fire had spread to the roof. Once in attendance the crews found that the building was well alight, but that thankfully no persons were injured or required rescuing. Crew then requested a further 2 pumps attend to assist and these were sent from Christchurch (on call) and Springbourne, along with specialist supporting appliances from Hamworthy and Poole. Crews used one mainline jet, two hose reel jets, six breathing apparatus and the aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire in the first floor bedroom which had spread to the roof, causing 80% fire damage to the first floor and 20% to the roof. Stripping back and cutting away was also utilised to prevent further fire spread. 3 appliances and the aerial ladder platform are still in attendance as of 16:40 and a reinspection will take place later this evening.
