Dog Rescue

Date: 8th October, 2021

Time: 13:19

Description: Control received a call from a distressed dog owner, whose dog had entered a lake after chasing geese.  The dog had been in the water for 10 minutes at the time of the call.  Firefighters from Westbury attended along with special appliances, which were fortunately not required.  They reunited the dog safely with the owner.  For safety reasons we advise to never enter the water to rescue your pet.  We suggest walking to a point on the shore that it is easier for the animal to get to land and call it from there.  Most pets are able to get themselves out of trouble - however in this case our help was needed and we are pleased to say it was a happy ending.
