Fire Cadets

Due to the current government guidelines and restrictions relating to the Covid-19 outbreak we are putting on hold recruitment for our next Fire Cadet programme due to commence September 2020.  Please do keep an eye on the website and social media pages for up to date info and as soon as we are able to, we will open recruitment for our next course.

There are three Fire Cadet Units across our service area, based at Swindon, Trowbridge and Hamworthy.

The aim of Fire Cadets is to support the development of young people by providing a positive role model and giving them opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities.

The programme is linked to the National Fire Cadet model, and is delivered by specially trained firefighters, Fire and Rescue Service staff and volunteers. Each course lasts for 38 weeks within the academic year, starting in September.
