Date: 15th May, 2022

At 4.01am this morning (15 May), fire crews from Springbourne, Redhill Park, Christchurch, Poole (two), and the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne were called to a hotel fire on St Michael’s Road, Bournemouth.

Once they arrived on scene, firefighters found the hotel being evacuated and a fire located on the top floor of the four-storey building.

Crews rescued six people, led two others to safety and used two sets of breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to bring the fire under control by 4.38am.

A fire investigation has been carried out and the cause involves the ignition of a duvet, but due to the nature of the fire, it can’t be confirmed if this was accidental or deliberate.
