Description: A trailer laden with baled hay caught alight just past the J17 sliproad westbound. The motorway was closed for many hours while firefighters tackled the blaze, with a telehandler used to move the bales so they could be fully dampened down. The stop came at 5.07am, after which one lane of the carriageway was reopened, but a presence was maintained through the morning while the hay was loaded onto lorries for disposal.
