Car Fire – A30 West of Sherborne

Time: 10:01am

Description: Emergency calls were received reporting a car fire west of Sherborne on the A30. Appliances from Yeovil and Sherborne were mobilised and on arrival found a vehicle well alight. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire that is believed to have started from the engine compartment. The vehicle was fully involved in fire. Dorset Council Highways have been contacted to assist with making highway safe due to hazards of oil, fuel and burning to carriageway.
