Barn Fire – Aldbourne

Date: 30th April, 2020

Time: 6.17pm

Description: Aldbourne - At 1817 Fire Control received a call from a member of the public reporting a barn fire in Albourne. Crews from Ramsbury (pump), Swindon (pump), Hungerford (pump) and Royal Wootton Bassett (water carrier) were mobilised. Due to the caller mentioning access may be difficult for fire engines Control made the decision to add a landrover with pumping capability. This was mobilised from Ludgershall. A further pumping landrover was also requested from our colleagues in Thames Valley who sent their Wantage vehicle along with a supporting crew from Newbury. Crews confirmed a concrete block building containing hay to be well alight and used to water carrier to assist with the fire. The Ludgershall crew remain in attendance carrying out a watching brief.
