Fire in Tidworth

Date: 4th October, 2019

An investigation is now underway into the cause of a fire in Station Road, Tidworth last night (3 October).

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 10.33pm to an unoccupied single storey building well alight.

Nine fire crews – from Ludgershall, Amesbury, Salisbury (two), Pewsey and Marlborough, and Andover (two) and Redbridge, from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service – were sent to the scene, along with an incident command vehicle from Devizes and an operational support unit from Swindon.

Four breathing apparatus wearers, four hose reel jets and four main jets were used to bring the blaze under control. Firefighters have remained on scene overnight, with relief crews being brought in from Corsham, Wilton, Ramsbury and Bradford on Avon.

Damping down is continuing this morning (4 October) while a fire investigator and Wiltshire Police investigate what happened.
