Coffee and chat at Amesbury fire station next week

Date: 8th August, 2017

Amesbury fire station is hosting a special coffee afternoon on Tuesday 15 August to help local people to access a range of information about staying safe.

The fire station doors will be open between 2pm and 4pm for people to call in for a hot drink and some cake.

As well as fire safety advice from firefighters, there will be information stands from the Bobby Van Trust, Alzheimer’s Support, Home Start, the Stroke Association and Wiltshire Police.

Firefighter Vicki Brewis, one of the event organisers, said: “We know that a lot of local people, especially the more elderly, may just fancy a chat as some may go days without speaking to anyone. This is a completely free event, just pop in any time between 2pm and 4pm, have a cuppa and some cake, and hopefully meet some new people and find out more about the help that’s available to you.”

Amesbury fire station can be found on Salisbury Road and public car parks are close by. Please be careful when approaching the site in case of the fire engines being called away for an emergency.
