Building Fire – Bournemouth

Date: 7th June, 2025

Time: 12.53am

Description: We were called at 12.53am this morning (7 June) to Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth to reports of a commercial building fire. Initially crews from Springbourne, Redhill Park, Westbourne, Christchurch, Poole (x2), Hamworthy, Ringwood (Hampshire & Isle of Wight FRS) alongside the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne and a command unit from Hamworthy were mobilised to the incident.

On arrival, residents from the neighbouring flats had evacuated, and crews found a fire in the ground-floor kitchen. Three further crews from Wimborne, Blandford and Verwood were mobilised and firefighters quickly got the fire under control. Eight breathing apparatus wearers used one main line and two hose reel jets to extinguish.

At 2am, the incident was scaled back, and our stop came in at 2.31am. No casualties have been reported and an investigation into the cause will take place later today.

1:30pm: The investigation has taken place and the cause is believed to be accidental.
