Date: 9th August, 2024
An open day at Trowbridge fire station on Saturday 17 August will raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
The event will be open to the general public between 11am and 3pm, and will feature various demonstrations, including hot oil fires.
There will also be a quiet hour between 10am and 11am for people with special educational needs who may find busy crowds, flashing lights and sirens challenging. Numbers are limited so places are by free e-ticket, please email [email protected]
Other attractions on the day will include the chance to look round different fire appliances, games, competitions, the Fire Service Store, hot food and refreshments, and much more! While the event is free, any donations and sales will benefit the Fire Fighters Charity.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s recruitment team will be on hand to chat with potential recruits, there will be an area promoting road safety and Safe & Well visits, and activities from the Education team will be available for children – including the chance to dress up like a firefighter!
The British Red Cross, Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Air Ambulance will also have stands.
Firefighter Luca Castelli, who is organising the event, said: “We want this to be a great day for the whole family, and we’re looking forward to meeting with our local community. We would remind people that there’s no parking at the fire station, but we’re just a short walk from Lovemead car park. We hope to see you on 17 August!”
