Date: 4th April, 2024
We were called to a property in Gresham Road, Bournemouth at 5.37pm yesterday (3 April) for a fire involving the roof and first floor.
Crews attended from Redhill Park, Springbourne, Westbourne, Christchurch (x2), Poole (x2), Wimborne and Ringwood, together with the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne and a support appliance from Hamworthy – approx. 40 firefighters.
Ten breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets and three main jets to tackle the fire. The roof was stripped of tiles to ensure all hot spots were dealt with.
The stop was at 8.08pm, by which time we had scaled back to four crews plus the aerial ladder platform and the support unit. We had left the scene before midnight.
Volunteers from the British Red Cross emergency response team, based at Springbourne fire station, attended to support the property’s occupants.
No injuries were reported, and an investigation has found that the fire started accidentally due to an electrical fault.
