The aftermath of Sundays (19/04/09) heath fire at Talbot Heath.
COPYRIGHT BOURNEMOUTH DAILY ECHO.

Firewise is hosted by the Dorset Heaths Partnership (formerly the Urban Heaths Partnership), which was formed to deliver heathland mitigation on behalf of its ten partners as listed below:

The partnership employs a small core team of staff, which co-ordinates heathland mitigation, delivers education and monitoring programmes, along with the ‘Dorset Dogs’ project, which works to promote positive management for dogs and responsible ownership and behaviour.

On-site presence in the form of wardens is provided by partner organisations.

The work of the Partnership is funded through developer contributions from any development within 5km of the Dorset heathland sites.

For more information about Firewise please contact the Dorset Heaths Partnership office on 01202 642787, email [email protected] or write to Urban Wildlife Centre, Beacon Hill Lane, Corfe Mullen, Dorset, BH21 3RX
